Needs clinical review

Dr. Cabral needs to read this page before it goes live. The patient education here is written conservatively and describes the treatment in general — it makes no claim about this practice's technique, materials, or protocol, because none has been supplied.

  • EVERY PRICE ON THIS PAGE IS INVENTED. The ad publishes no preventive fees, so the new-patient exam, cleaning, deep cleaning, and child cleaning figures are all placeholders. The Service schema omits the price accordingly.
  • The first FAQ answers "will I get a lecture" directly, and leans on the August ad's own promise of no pressure and no judgment. Confirm you are happy being held to that in writing.
  • The page states that a first visit always includes an exam and that you will not do a cleaning without one. Confirm that matches your policy — it is a reasonable clinical position but it is a policy, not a fact.
  • It also says recall intervals are set per patient rather than a blanket six months, and mentions the membership plan as a cheaper route for regular attenders. Both are claims about how the practice operates.

Exams & Cleanings

Check-ups, cleanings, and X-rays — the visits that keep the bigger bills away. If it has been a while, that is exactly who this is for.

Your options

New Patient Exam & X-rays

Starting at$75

Best forYour first visit with us, whenever your last one anywhere was.

A full look at your teeth, gums, and bite, with the X-rays needed to see what is happening below the surface. You leave with a written plan and the cost of everything on it.

Cleaning

Starting at$95

Best forHealthy gums, keeping them that way.

Removing the hardened plaque a toothbrush cannot shift, above and just below the gumline, then polishing. Most people do this twice a year.

Deep Cleaning

Starting at$185

Best forGum disease — bleeding, receding, or pockets that have formed.

This is a different treatment from a regular cleaning, not a longer one. It reaches below the gumline to clean the root surfaces, and is priced per quadrant — a quarter of the mouth at a time.

Children’s Cleaning

Starting at$75

Best forChildren, including a first visit that is meant to be easy.

A cleaning, a check for decay, and fluoride if it is needed. Sealants on the back teeth are priced separately and are worth asking about.

Why preventive visits are worth it

  • It is the cheapest dentistry there is

A cavity caught early is a filling. The same tooth left alone becomes a crown, then a root canal, then an extraction — each step several times the price of the one before.

  • Gum disease gives no warning

It rarely hurts until it is advanced, and it is the most common reason adults lose teeth that were otherwise sound. Bleeding when you brush is the early sign most people ignore.

  • It protects what you have already paid for

Crowns, dentures, and implants all last longer when the gums around them are healthy. Skipping check-ups is how expensive work gets lost early.

  • We look for more than cavities

Every exam includes a check of the soft tissue for anything that should not be there. Oral cancer is far more survivable when it is found early, and this is where it gets found.

What to expect, honestly

No one tells you this part in an advertisement, so we will. None of it is a reason not to go ahead — it is simply what to expect.

  • We may find things you did not know about

If it has been a long time, an exam usually turns up more than one problem, and the written plan can look daunting. It is a list, not a bill — we will tell you what is urgent, what can wait, and what order makes sense.

  • A deep cleaning is not a regular cleaning

If your gums need one, it is priced per quadrant and usually takes more than one visit, so the total is several times a routine cleaning. We will say so before booking, never after.

  • Your gums may bleed at first

If it has been a while, cleaning and brushing can make inflamed gums bleed for the first week or two. That is the gums healing, not being damaged, and it settles. It is not a reason to stop.

  • Twice a year is an average, not a rule

Some people are fine on one visit a year. Others — smokers, diabetics, anyone with a history of gum disease — genuinely need three or four. We will tell you which you are rather than defaulting everyone to the same interval.

How it works, step by step

Most of the worry comes from not knowing what actually happens. Here is the whole process.

  1. Booking the visit

    On the phone

Tell us roughly when you were last seen and whether anything hurts. Bring a list of any medicines you take — it changes what we look for and what we recommend.

  2. X-rays

    A few minutes

Decay between teeth and problems at the root do not show in the mirror. We take what is needed for your situation, not a fixed set for everybody.

  3. The exam

    The same visit

Teeth, existing fillings and crowns, gums and pocket depths, your bite, and a check of the soft tissue. Dr. Cabral will talk you through what he sees as he goes.

  4. The cleaning

    The same visit, usually

If your gums are healthy, the cleaning happens now. If they are not, we will explain why a deep cleaning is the right treatment and what it costs before booking it.

  5. Your plan, in writing

    Before you leave

Everything we found, what each item costs, and what we would do first. Nothing is booked until you say so, and you are welcome to take it away and think.

  6. When to come back

    Ongoing

We will suggest an interval based on your gums and your risk, not a blanket six months. If a membership plan makes that cheaper, we will say so.

Timings are the usual range. We will give you the schedule for your own treatment at the first visit.

Common questions

It has been years since I saw a dentist. Will I get a lecture?

No. People stay away for all sorts of reasons — cost, fear, a bad experience, or simply time — and Dr. Cabral has seen every version of it in decades of practice. You will get a plain account of what is going on and practical options, with no pressure and no judgment. Coming in after a long gap is the useful thing to do, not something to apologise for.

Does a cleaning hurt?

A routine cleaning on healthy gums is not painful, though you will feel scraping and some cold water. If your gums are inflamed it can be tender, and if a deep cleaning is needed we numb the area first. Tell us if you are sensitive — we can work more slowly.

What is the difference between a cleaning and a deep cleaning?

A regular cleaning works on the crown of the tooth and just under the gum edge. A deep cleaning goes further down, cleaning the root surface inside pockets that gum disease has opened up. It is a treatment for a diagnosed condition, not an upgrade — if your gums do not need it, we will not sell it to you.

Do I need X-rays every time?

No. How often depends on your risk of decay and what we are watching. Someone with a healthy mouth and no history needs them far less often than someone with several fillings. If you have recent X-rays from another dentist, ask them to send them and we will use those.

My gums bleed when I brush. Should I stop brushing there?

No — that is the opposite of what helps. Bleeding usually means inflammation from plaque left at the gumline, and the area needs cleaning more carefully, not less. If it carries on for more than a couple of weeks of good brushing, come in and let us look.

Can I just have a cleaning without an exam?

Not on a first visit. Cleaning a mouth without knowing what is in it can miss an abscess or clean over a problem that needed treating instead. Once we have seen you and know your situation, routine cleanings are straightforward.

Is there anything that makes this cheaper if I come regularly?

Ask about the membership plan when you call. It bundles the cleanings, exams, and routine X-rays into one yearly or monthly fee and discounts everything else, which for someone coming twice a year usually costs less than paying per visit.

Do you take my insurance?

We do not work with insurance at all. We are fee-for-service — no networks, no annual maximum, and nobody to approve your treatment but you and Dr. Cabral. The price you see is the price you pay, and financing is available.

Ready when you are

Come in for an exam and you will leave with a written plan and the full cost. No obligation, and nothing gets booked until you say so.

Edited prices come out with "verified": false unless they were already confirmed. Set it to true only for figures the practice has actually agreed, since that is what the publish guard checks. Until this file is committed and rebuilt, patients still see the old prices.
